"steal like an artist" - book written by Austin Klenn
"Heartless" - book written by Marissa Meyer
Heartless was a prequel to the queen of hearts and her story of how she became the queen of hearts. The story made me cry when one of the main characters' died, Jest, and the writing by Marissa Meyer connected to the queen of hearts, Catherine, so I felt her pain and happiness as her journey carried on through the story, and she also made me feel Catherine's pain when she lost Jest, the man whom she loved. The book was also fantasy and a fairytale, included magic and mystery. Catherine seemed happy in the book but we knew she was going to become the queen of hearts because we were given that information from the beginning, so that made me want to keep reading to find out what happens to turn her into that type of character. Because the book ended in a sad way, it showed that love is not always going to be here, and not everything is a happy ending, which did make me very very sad. It also had puzzles and well thought out mysteries within the story, which all came together and made sense in the end, but had a warning in the story for the main characters which you thought wasn't going to happen, but then the massive plot twist made it occur, which made my heart ache knowing how close they were to being happy and having that happy ending. There's a link between heartless and the lunar chronicles, they are both fantasies and about fairytale stories, also quite graphic and includes love, only one ends in heartbreak, heartless, and one ends with a slightly happier ending, lunar chronicles.
Looking at my list
Many other things in my list include mystery and fantasy of some way, as I do enjoy the mystery and seeing the plot twists which I find very exciting, for example all of the books and films I have put on my list are classed as mysteries or fantasies, as they transport me into that different world, as I usually watch and read all these things before bed I use it as escapism from the real world to that fantasy world.
The TV shows I put on there are all, what I associate with as, comedies. I see miraculous as my comfort show, it is still coming out with new episodes in its new season and it still excites me, if not even more than it did when I was 10 years old when it first came out. Will and Grace and Frasier are both comedy TV shows which I watch with my parents, especially when we have dinner we usually binge watch Frasier together, and we always laugh about it and discuss the episodes afterwards, it causes us to have conversations and laugh together, as well as just being good TV shows to watch and has entertaining characters to watch and connect to.
"What if...?" exercise
- what if we woke up tomorrow morning with no memory of the life before, but only small flashbacks of it
- what if there was a deadly mosquito that, if you got stung by it, would kill you within 2 days
- what if every clock stopped and the hands started turning around the clock really fast
- what if our phones were actually spy devices for the government to listen into and secretly control our every move
NatWest pound advert
- what was I interested in at 9/10: barbie and monster high movies, polly pockets, lego friends, riding bikes, cartoons/TV shows
Idea inspired by this advert:
- shot of his wardrobe glowing with another dinosaur sound
- close up of his feet as he gets out of the bed and walks across to the wardrobe, we see dinosaur toys and animal toys on the floor as he walks past them
- he walks over to the wardrobe and opens it to see a toy dinosaur on the floor of the wardrobe which he picks up, there's another dinosaur sound so he looks up to see light behind clothes, he gets up and pushes past the clothes and walks forward to see a land with dinosaurs walking around, and one walks right in front of him
- we hear the doors start to creak as he turns around and we have a shot from behind him as he turns toward the doors from outside the wardrobe and the doors close in front of the camera from the outside
- opening title comes up
